BIO
EARLY YEARS
Rx is a Canadian artist and songwriter of Black and Indian decent. She has been creating music since the early age of 7 and taught herself how to play the guitar at 15. She began her creative journey writing for local artists in her hometown, Toronto, and performing live on the open mic scene.
BIG BREAK
In 2018, she booked a flight to Los Angeles for the first time to follow her dreams. It didn’t take long for her to earn her first major placement co-write on the BTS song titled, “My Time”. The song appeared on the multi-platinum selling album “Map of The Soul: 7”. The album has won many international awards including a People’s Choice Award for Album of The Year in 2020. It currently holds the record for most pre-sales of all time and is the #1 album of 2020.
The Mother of Mentorships
Rx returned to Canada and sought out more creative development. She was quickly accepted into a Ableton mentorship sponsored by The SOCAN Foundation and RBC. There, she learned how to master her own home recording workflow and how to produce. In the summer of 2021, Rx was discovered on TikTok by Tor Hermansen of the legendary production duo, Stargate. He invited her back to Los Angeles where she was mentored at LAAMP by Stargate, Ne-Yo, Cirkut, Emily Warren, Jenna Andrews, and Charlie XCX (to name a few). Today, Rx is crafting music to add to her catalogue of songs while planning an 2023 EP release.
